Time To Pimp A Spokane, Washington Exhibit!

I rarely find much to pimp here in Spokane because, well we are a bit rural and cut off from the world but, The MAC ( Museum of Arts And Culture) is having a Sci Fi movies/tv show costume exhibit.

Out of this World: Extraordinary Costumes from Film and Television

June 6, 2009 - September 5, 2009

The MAC will host the traveling exhibit Out of This World: Extraordinary Costumes from Film and Television from June 6 through September 5, 2009. Out of This World: Extraordinary Costumes from Film and Television will feature more than 30 costumes and related objects from science fiction films and television programs such as, Star Wars, Blade Runner, Terminator, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica and Batman. The exhibition will allow visitors to examine how costume design incorporates color, style, scale, materials, historical traditions and cultural cues to help performers and audiences engage, in new or accepted ways, with the characters being portrayed.

I am a sci fi lover and also love to look at costumes. I love going to the Sci Fi Museum (Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame) in Seattle so I am curious to see what the exhibit here in Spokane has in it.

I encourage any fashionistias in Spokane and the surrounding areas to go take a peek at the costumes at the MAC because sci fi brings great inspiration through costuming for movies/films.

Cool things coming to Spokane are few and far between so get out and support these sorts of things to encourage them coming here.

Off To Seattle!

I am off to Seattle tomorrow to see:

Flight of the Conchords in concert on Monday!!!!!

As you can tell that really excites me and I cannot wait to see them after 2 years of trying to get to one of their concerts and failing due to lack of money or the person I was going with backing out. I am going by myself and damn it..I will have fun!

I am so excited by this and by going to shop at H&M (and other stores) in Seattle .

See you on the flipside...on Tuesday!!!

Popping In, No I Haven't Died.

I have been busy with photoshoots/photo editing so haven't had time to post as much as I would like to. My bad.

I am headed to Seattle this weekend as well and looking forward to getting away for a few days and maybe doing a tiny bit of shopping. I will hunt down H&M this time while I am in Seattle. It is am absolute must to me.

Not a lot going on here on the shopping front. They are, finally, opening a Forever 21 store in the Valley Mall (35 minutes from my house by car) but I cannot be bothered to attend the opening with all the overweight local girls bitching about how nothing fits them there. I will wait a while and then visit the store after the initial crowd dies down.

Okay, off I head back to editing photos. In the meantime, enjoy a little "Clint Eastwood":

I Need This Blouse!

I am loving this blouse:

Above: black silk cutout shoulder drawstring blouse by Rebecca Taylor

It is sold out on the site so I know I am not the only one loving it.

I need to find a similar style somewhere else and preferably for less than $177.00.

Cool Sandals On My Feet and a Bracelet I Want To Find.

I saw this leather bracelet at shopbop.com and instantly wanted it:

Above: Kettle Black Triple Wrap Bracelet

Especially after seeing it on a human wrist:

I will have to keep my eyes peeled for a bracelet like this because I love it, fringe and all.

I bought a cool pair of sandals at Payless Shoe Source a few weekends ago.

The sandals:

They are a lot more "orange" than the photograph at the site. Sort of a cheery, terra cotta, orange colour in real life.

They are also VERY comfortable, were on sale when bought them (SCORE!), and I will be wearing them a lot this summer with jeans.

I haven't been posting as much because I am doing more photoshoots. I am trying to line one up with a model as I type this. I go through busy times and then a lot of slack time when it comes to my photography. I have just entered a busy time.

I will try and post more often in the coming weeks.

ISO White Embroidered Tunic Top.

There are times when I really miss living in San Diego.

For example, I have been eyeing tops like this one in stores here:

Above: Beach Tunic in White by Vegas & Mia

I love these tops/beach cover-up tunics and they are all so expensive when I see one that I love, and that is comfortable against the skin. The one in the photo is $80.

And it kills me to know that in Old Town (or along the beaches) in San Diego I could get something like this for under $80 and probably even prettier with the embroidery plus some beading.

I mean the embroidery on this tunic is pretty:

Just look at it...and the material has to be so soft! But $80 is a bit much for me at the moment. I know I could get something like this for less in San Diego.

*Sigh* I hate my location so much. Tops like this are $149 at the cheapest in stores here.
