Nick Photo Shoot: Feb. 2013

I have started to get back into taking photos and had 3 photo shoots in February. I have finally gotten two of them complete in editing and will share them in blog posts. The first one being the photo shoot of Nick.

It was raining, really raining hard in fact, during the whole shoot so it was not a super easy shoot. It did make me feel a little better about things since I am a bit rusty when it comes to taking photos after a few months of "taking a break" from it. I have another photo shoot tomorrow and it will be interesting since it is suppose to be raining again. Hopefully, the rain will let up some by 2 p.m. *crosses fingers*

New Photo Shoot On Saturday.

If all goes as planned, I will have my first photo shoot of the new year this Saturday. It will be my first in a series of photo shoots and I am looking forward to it.

The weather is warming up a little (if you call 40 F warm) but there is still many months until the days are warm. So, this means winter clothing and models who don't mind cold weather are to be in the photos. I was actually surprised I got as many offers to pose as I did. I just wish the snow hadn't melted as much in the past few days...but we cannot be lucky all the time and it was too dang cold when we had the huge amounts of snow.

I am feeling good things in 2013 and am hoping this year will be one full of good opportunities with my creativity and on so many levels.

Oh, and my birthday brought me this stylish camera bag for when I want to bring my camera but not the huge camera bag with me around town.

I think it will be perfect for looking stylish and for when I am not needing tons of equipment but want my camera with me. So, very cool gift for me to get.

Now to plan for the photo shoot on Saturday.

Gearing Up For Feb. Photo Shoots.

I have one winter weather shoot scheduled and two pending. This is great! I am feeling the need to get out in the winter weather and take wonderful photos, as well as experiment with winter, natural, lighting.

I decided to practice on my cat to get back into the mood for photo taking. yes, I was in that mood a few nights back and the cat decided to cooperate with my model needing to pose.

I still have many days open for Feb. photo shoots so if you are interested in posing, feel free to contact me.

Winter Weather Photos.

I have grown tired of sitting around the house pining for warmer weather to do photo shoots in. This has prompted me to put up an advert for models who are not adverse to posing in cold weather and snow. You would be surprised how hard it is to find people who will pose in winter weather, many magically become "allergic to cold." I am hoping to attract people who don't mind a little cold and snow to be captured in beautiful images

So far, I have one response from a girl who is all excited for a cold weather shoot and that will be happening in Feb. I am looking forward to the shoot and hope that many more models/people will contact me to pose in the cold.

Happy New Year Everyone!

I have been missing in action a lot this year. I have felt out of the blogging mood and a lot of negative stuff was tossed my way near the end of the year. It made me just need a break from sharing anything.

I also have started using this blog to show off what creative stuff I am doing on photography. I am going to carry that over to the new year so I don't have to just write and write a bunch of entries without something to really show. Everyone seems to prefer photos in entries and my life is ever evolving so this blog is going to evolve with my life.

Anyway, I hope everyone has a very happy new year. That all the bad things that happened in people's lives get left in the old year. That only good things that happened in 2012 get carried over into the new year. I also want all sorts of new, exciting, and good things to happen in the new year to everyone.

So, lift up the chin, smile, and welcome in the new year with me.

Break Time!

After some disappointment in the world of photography, I have been taking a month off this October. I know, I know, I should just get right back out there and take photos. I should shake off the disappointment. I just need a break after having this happen and after a busy summer of taking photos. It had me feeling more than a little burnt out. I just need some "me time" to breath, relax, read books, watch movies, and recharge my creative batteries. I am hoping that I will find my next creative outlet soon because I have ideas simmering in my brain but just am not sure which direction to go in. Probably another reason I need some "me time", to shake the ideas out and think them through. I am hoping everyone is having a great autumn and I will try and post again soon.

Chelsea and Ricky- Sept. 2012

I had a senior yearbook photo shoot recently with Chelsea. She brought along her boyfriend, Ricky who was in many of the shots. It was a mixture of senior photo/couples photo shoot and I rather enjoyed it.

I am now in a lull between photo shoots with nothing planned in the next few weeks. I am needing a little bit of a break because I am feeling a little bit burnt out after photo shoots, canceled shoots, tons of rescheduling, and editing tons of photos.

I will probably look for more people with costumes for the Superheroes project I am doing closer to Halloween. People tend to have costumes around Halloween that may work and that makes it easier to find people to pose for this project in late Oct.

I will also be updating my website which is in a huge need up updating. It has been a while since I put new images on there and I now have a lot of images to choose from to add into the site.

I am going to try and move toward more paying photo shoots because, like most everyone else in the world, I could use the money. So, that is in the plans as well. I will still have projects (like the Superheroes one) where I have the model pose in exchange for images but if someone approaches me with ideas they want me to shoot them in? I will have to charge them. It has to happen because I need to upgrade my equipment and also save up some money. Start moving into the professional realm more often.

It is nice to have a breather before I head on to the next shoot. It will give me a little time to recharge and plan.
