Back From Seattle!

I have been back for a week now but have been busy running around taking photos so haven't made a proper post in ages. I will remedy that soon, I promise!

I bought the Fall Vogue with all the ads for new clothing/accessories and am loving about half of it. I will definitely get inspired by it and am in love with a new handbag by Michael Kors I cannot find anywhere even to find out the price of it. I just know it is to be expensive but I want to know the price. Silly but true. If I find a photo of it online I will definitely post about it here.

I am HATING the crappy 80s trendy stuff that is so popular now. The crappy eyewear/sunglasses you could buy in gas stations for a buck just 6 months ago, the stirrup pants, the shiny leggings (which are unflattering on overweight women so, of course, overweight women LOVE them), the neon colours, the tracky belts, the plastic jewelry, ect. I will be glad when the trend of 80s wear dies hard! It was crap the first time around and remains crap.

On the other hand I like the 70s stuff that is mixed in with the 80s junk. The ethnic inspired jewelry and shirts/tunics, the wedge boots and sandals, the flare jeans, ruffled shirts, ect. They have more class to them in styling and would last more than a season if you don't go for the items that scream "trendy" when you buy the look.

I would add photos but I am not using my own computer. I will try and post another post tonight, with visual aids, of some things that have wowed me recently or maybe some of the stuff that I think should be junked right away.

Watch this space.

Heading to see radiohead.

I am headed out tomorrow evening to Seattle. I will be there for two days and a night. Why?

To see the gorgeous radiohead:

Karma Police- radiohead

High & Dry- radiohead

Creep- radiohead

Yes, I am headed to the radiohead concert in Auburn, Washington! Go me!

It's been a while since I have seen a cool concert and this should fit the bill.

I will be staying with my brother in Seattle and will check out the area around his apartment on Wednesday (before the concert) and on Thursday (before I fly home in the evening).

So, if I am quiet here that will be why.

Beautiful Winter Coat.

I have been rather blue today and was online trying to distract myself from the "blue funk".

I found the most beautiful coat on Bluefly.com:

Above: grey wool shawl collar long jacket by Norma Kamali

I wish I had the money for this coat. It is the perfect coat for me! It would look great over a dress or over pants. Equally good with heels or boots. I could even wear a slouchy knit hat with it.

I envision myself wearing it out on a snowy, winter night as I head to a play or out to eat at a nice restaurant. I wish I had $405 to spend on it....I would get it in a heartbeat.

I drool at the side-tie, the black trim, and the length.

*Sigh*

Cracked Silver Boot Love.

So, I wander the fashion websites and what do I find?

These beautiful boots:

They remind me, vaguely, of those wonderful Monkey Boots by NaNa that I got instead of Doc Marten boots at the age of 18. I loved them and they saw many a mosh pit....until I got my Doc Martens 3 years later on my birthday.

I still have those Monkey Boots in my closet and will probably never part with them even though I never wear them anymore.

I would like these cracked silver leather boots by Gee Wah Wah because they are a nice update of the style.

Eye-Catchers From Recent Fashion Site Crusing.

I have been rather low-key recently due to wrapping up my photoshoot and planning my next photography projects. This doesn't mean I haven't been roaming the fashion world on the Internet. I have.

Some items that have caught my eye and I want to share?

Above:Ophelie Mary Jane in Zebra/Black Contrast by Pour La Victoire

They are the PERFECT zebra print heels! Just enough black leather (patent leather as well) to mute down the zebra print so it is not over-bearing and tacky.

I love my animal prints but I like my animal prints "in a cage" and not screaming, "Look I am dressed like an way past date, street walker!" These heels fit the bill.

And then there is this delicious trenchcoat:

Above: Hitchcock Leather Trench by Diane von Furstenberg

It is so chocolate-y in the colour of the leather and very 60's spy...or 60's in Paris.

I can imagine wearing and wandering around a big city in the rain. It's just the perfect trenchcoat.

Then there are these boots:

Above: Open toe boots by Marni

They may be spendy at $1,070 but look at the cut-outs! So cool!

They are peep-toe, tall, leather boots! I would have so much fun owning and wearing them. Curse you expensive tastes!

And this 1920's inspired coat:

Brightly coloured and the fur trim is so long and furry!

I can see this on a silent screen actress as she steps out of her roadster. Just gorgeous!

Yes, even when I am busy, I am cruising the fashion sites and clothing websites letting beautiful/funky fashion catch my eye.
