Marimekko!

I am going to deviate from my usual clothing, shoes, accessories, or music posts to say how much I love Marimekko designs!

It started with me seeing these Marimekko bedsheets on the Crate & Barrel website:

Which made me go crazy because I loved the flower design and the bright green colour. I quickly ordered them and they now are on my bed!

So you can imagine my excitement at finding these postcards on stylefeeder:

I will have to purchase them when I have a little extra money.

And I saw this bedding set:

Which I would also love to own.

Yes, I am liking these designs. I will have to keep my eyes open for more products from this design house in Finland.

Music Post: Like It's 1994....

I was in a major retro music mood today...and indulged it beyond blur. It made me day seem brighter so all was well in my world.

I thougth I would share the songs that made my day fun:

The Happy Mondays: "Step On"

This song always makes me dance around like a fool...or like dancing band member, Baz. You will see him in the video...dancing like a bird who cannot quite get off the ground.

The Stone Roses: "Fool's Gold"

I have always loved The Stone Roses. Great retro sound to their music yet it was modern as well.

Elastica: "Stutter"

I wanted hair like Justine's (the lead singer) and got it 5 years ago. I have since changed my hairstyle but still love the look...and this song.

Pulp: "Common People"

This song just rocks. William Shatner (Yes, that William Shatner.) did a verison of this song that is also good but nothing beats the original.

Suede: "She's In Fashion"

A bit later in release but just as good and always makes me think back to 90s.

The Verve: "Bitter Sweet Symphony"

I could easliy name this my favorite song of all time. And a fitting way to end this blog.

Fashion is music and music is fashion.

I Give This Nicole Ritchie Outfit a Thumbs Up!

Nicole Ritchie is getting bagged for wearing this outfit to the Women In Films Awards:

Above: Nicole Ritchie

Personally, I quite like it. It is evening-like but floral so spring-like. It covers her up decently so you don't focus on how thin she is. Her make-up is great, her hair is perfect for the dress, and I see nothing wrong with the dress.

I like Ritchie's fashion choice for this event.

Tied Up With A Bow.

I am loving the huge asymmetrical bow on this top!

I would love to own it and wear it out to a restuarant with sidewalk seating!

These Boots Are Made For Walking....

These boots:

Above: Stamped leather boots by Guiseppe Zanotti

Are so cool! They would look great with a little black dress, or short skirt, with black tights.

Love the stamped leather which gives them a alligator skin look.

So beautiful!

So Many Gorgeous Shoes!

I was wandering around the Internet tonight and have come across so many beautiful shoes. I just have to share!

These:
Above: Silk sandal with bow by Christian Louboutin

Are so gorgeous! They even help me get over my dislike of pink in my wish to own them.

They look even better when teamed with this dress:

Above: Flower print short dress by Marc Jacobs

Just beautiful and I love the site that is selling both the dress and shoes (both made of silk) thought to put them together!

These shoes are also wonderful:

Above: Leather court with rouched effect by Dries Van Noten

They are like a mixture of 1920s styling with modern. I love the rouching and way the straps are attached! The tan colour of the leather is also beautiful.

The green colour of these shoes:

Make me renew my love of the colour green.

These great bronze shoes:

Are very 1930s in styling with the sculpted heel giving it a modern touch. Wow!

So many great shoes out this season. It makes a shoe-loving woman like me wish I had a huge bank account so I could run out and buy them all!

These Are Just Weird Enough To Intrigue Me.

Yes, I am back from Seattle and got all caught up on my e.mail. Quite the task.

Then I started checking online sites to see what was new on them and I came across these sandals:

Above: Bahia Elastic Sock Thong Sandal by Cocobelle

I know that they are beyond bizarre seeing how they are a thong sandal with attached elastic sock. The thing is, the more I looked at them, the more I liked them. They are just odd but, strangely appealling to me.

They would look great with jeans or knee length pants. They are quite funky and I would definitely buy them if I had the cash and came across them in a store.

Maybe I can find a knock-off version somewhere for cheaper?
